Fortunately, I've been to Lawrence Ferlinghetti's shop in San Francisco, City Lights Books. I now want to more than ever, to not only hand them money for books, but to just breath in its history, memories, special moments, and such. I've never had the privilege, yet, of visiting the bookshop, Shakespeare and Company. And believe me, I have read a lot of those kinds of books. This is by far the best book about books, bibliomania, bibliophiles, etc. From Jeanette Winterson's "Forward" to Sylvia Whitman's (George's daughter) "Epilogue," this book takes its reader on a journey, with George at the helm, through a marvelous literary history, beginning in 1951 to the present day. After reading this wonderful book, I should say so. George Whitman's bookstore, Shakespeare and Company (named after Sylvia Beach's store from earlier in the 20th century which hosted much of the Lost Generation of writers) has been likened to the Mad Hatter's tea party. ![]()

The former resident of the house (played by genre veteran Pruitt Taylor Vince), a decidedly odd-in-a-disturbing way character who likes to play a Gibson Flying V at full volume to drown out the whispering voice he hears, returns after years of institutionalization. A mother, father, and daughter move into a big, new country home that’s had its price reduced due to some (seemingly unsuspicious) deaths that took place there. It’s central premise is the classic man-versus-devil tale, but told with an amazing flair for the suspenseful and (always nice to see in a horror film) great character development. During our times praying the Rosary, we are brought to the foot of the cross, lap of Mary, and doorway of our salvation.
